EMERGENCY ROOFING

From your call to a secured roof.

In an emergency, the first job is to stop more water getting in. The permanent repair comes next, once it’s safe to do it properly.

WHEN TO CALL RIGHT AWAY

Is it a roofing emergency?

Some problems can wait for a weekday appointment. These can’t. If you see any of them, call us now.

  • Water coming through a ceiling

Active drips, a bulging ceiling or water running down a wall means the roof is open. Keep people clear of the area.

  • Missing shingles after a storm

Bare decking or torn underlayment exposed to the weather will let the next rain straight into the house.

  • A tree or limb on the roof

Even if it looks stable, a fallen limb can crack rafters. Stay out of the rooms beneath it until we check.

Roof damaged right now? Call (201) 565-6664, day or night. We’ll talk you through what to do and send a crew to secure it.

EMERGENCY ROOFING FAQS

Questions? Start here.

Yes. We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, weekends and holidays included. We offer same-day emergency service to tarp and secure the roof, then schedule the permanent repair.

Water coming into the house, a section of roof torn open by wind, a tree or limb on the roof, or a ceiling sagging with water. If damage is letting weather inside, or could do so with the next rain, treat it as an emergency.

It depends on the size of the damaged area, what has to be covered or replaced and what is underneath. We explain what securing the roof involves before we start, and the permanent repair gets its own written estimate.

Usually, as long as you avoid rooms under the damage. Turn off power to any area where water is near lights or outlets, and keep away from sagging ceilings. If a tree has hit the house, wait outside until it has been checked.

Often, yes. Our crews tarp in the rain when it is safe to do so. In lightning, very high wind or ice, we may protect the inside first and return to the roof as soon as conditions allow, because crew safety comes first.

Many homeowner policies cover sudden storm damage and expect you to take reasonable steps to prevent more damage, such as tarping. We photograph the damage and give you written notes for your claim. Your insurer decides what is covered.

Yes. Nor’easters and summer thunderstorms often bring lifted shingles, torn flashing and fallen limbs. We secure the roof while the weather is still bad, then repair or replace what was damaged once the storm has passed.

We come back to inspect the whole roof once it is dry and safe, photograph everything and give you a written estimate for the permanent repair. The tarp stays in place, and we check on it, until that work is done.
