HOW WE FIX LEAKS
Older Hunterdon homes often hide the real entry point. We follow the whole path water takes before we change a single shingle.

We follow the stain back through the attic, along rafters and framing, to where water actually gets in. On older homes that can be some distance from the drip.

Where an addition meets the house or a chimney passes through the roof, we replace worn step and counter flashing and reseal it so the joint sheds water again.

When ice backs water under the shingles, we repair the damaged area, add ice and water barrier at the eaves where needed and explain how venting affects the problem.

WHERE LEAKS SHOW UP
In Hunterdon’s older homes, leaks tend to appear in a few familiar places. Check these after heavy rain or a thaw.
A stain where the old house meets the newer section often means the flashing at that joint has failed.
Damp or crumbling plaster beside a chimney points to worn flashing or a cracked crown above the roofline.
Leaks that appear when snow melts, not when it rains, are a classic sign of ice dams at the eaves.

SIMPLE FROM START TO FINISH
We inspect your roof and explain what we find. Your estimate outlines the recommended work, materials and next steps, with time to ask questions before you decide.
After you approve the plan, we agree on a schedule and explain how to prepare your home. The team completes the repair or installation and keeps you informed about any changes.
We review the finished work and clean up the work area. A final walkthrough lets you ask questions and discuss the care and warranty information that applies to your roof.

LEAK REPAIR FAQS
That joint relies on flashing tucked behind the siding and under the shingles. When it’s missing, rusted or was never stepped properly, water runs straight in. We open the area, replace the flashing and seal it so it sheds water.
It depends on the source, how far water has spread and whether flashing, shingles or decking need replacing. Chimney and addition leaks take more work than a few lifted shingles. Your free inspection ends with a written estimate.
That pattern usually means ice dams. Snow melts on the warmer upper roof, refreezes at the colder eaves and backs water under the shingles. We repair the damage, can add ice and water barrier and will look at attic ventilation.
Please don’t. Chipping at ice damages shingles and gutters, and a snowy roof is dangerous to stand on. Move belongings away from the leak, catch the water and call us. We’ll advise you on next steps and plan the repair.
Yes. We replace worn step and counter flashing and seal it to the masonry. If the crown or mortar joints are cracked, we’ll show you, since chimney and masonry repair is also work we do.

Policies often cover sudden damage, like a storm lifting shingles or a limb puncturing the roof, but not gradual wear. We take photos and notes of the damage that you can share with your insurer.
